Casina Vagnuzzi - Roman Philharmonic Academy, Rome

Originally it was a simple construction built in the 16th century, as one of the houses of the Villa Giulia. It was reconstructed by G.Valadier, and later by L.Canina in 1825-1844.

At present it is a seat of Roman Philharmonic Academy.

The Philharmonic in Rome is one of the best places in the capital city of Italy, where you can listen to live classical music concerts. The Accademia was built in 1850 and still looks the same today. For a long time it was used as a cinema-theater. Now it mostly offers chamber music but the popular music concerts and dance shows are also very popular. The concert season lasts from October to June, with performances taking place in the Teatro Olimpico. All other performances are in the Sala Casella. The Academy holds singing and musical education classes during the winter.
