Giovanni Coli (Lucca 1636-1691) and Filippo Gherardi (Lucca 1643-1704), Italian painters. They begun their collective activity studying in Lucca at Paolini and than in Rome in Pietro da Cortona workshop. Among their numerous works executed in Rome are: frescoes of the dome (Chiesa di S.Nicola da Tolentino (1670-72)), vault frescoes (Chiesa di S.Pantaleo), and Battaglia di Lepanto (vault of the Galleria Colonna (1675-78)). In Venice they decorated the Library of St George.
