Giambattista Contini, Italian architect, was born and died in Rome in 1641-1723. He was a pupil of G.L.Bernini, and his famous works are: Cathedrals of Vetralla and of Vignanello (1730), Cappella De Angelis (Chiesa di S.Maria in Aracoeli, Rome), Cappella Capocaccio (Chiesa di S.Maria della Vittoria, Rome), Chiesa delle Stimmate di S.Francesco (Rome, 1708). In 1683-1719 Contini was a president of Academy of St Luke (Rome). In 1686 he projected an octagonal tower for the court of Saragozza.
