Fabbrica dei Mosaici (Mosaic Factory) is at the same time a school and a center of production. The laboratory continues the great tradition of modern mosaic works, due to it the greatest part of chromatic decorations in St Peter's is made in mosaic. The restoration works and exploration of new techniques are conducted by this organization.

In front of the Factory is Stazione Ferroviaria Vaticana/Stazione di citta' del Vaticano (The Vatican Railway Station). The traffic is quite intensive, as through it go all the transportation for the Vatican State and all depending clerical bodies.

To the right from the Station and right behind of St Peter's Palazzo/del Governatorato stands. It was built in 1928-31 by L.Beltrami as a residence of Pontificio Seminario Romano minore. But in the meanwhile the State of Vatican was created, so Pius XI made this palace Residence of Governatorato. Together with other administration offices this one is responsible for the organization of Vatican life.
