The author of Casina is P.Ligorio; the facade and the decorations were made by F.Barocci, Santi di Tito and F.Zuccari. Casina was restored by Gregory XIII, who transformed it in a museum of busts and bas-reliefs. In 1870 Pius IX chosen it as a residence of the Pontificia Accademia delle Scienze (Pontificial Academy of Sciences)[pictured below]; the architect G.Momo enlarged and restored the building for the needs of the Academy.
