Giovan Francesco Grimaldi, named il Bolognese, Italian engraver, painter and architect, was born in Bologna in 1606 and died in Rome in 1680. He studied together with Carracci and Albani, worked in Rome and in Paris with notable success. Dipicted mostly landscapes, of which should be noticed those in Palazzo del Quirinale in Rome.
