Live music at the Fonclea, Rome, Italy

Since 1977 the Fonclea has presented high level live music every night. Located in the vicinity of Saint Peter's , the club has two areas: a non smoking one for concerts that seats 90, and a smaller room for smokers that seats 40.

Fonclea found in the trendy neighborhood of Prati, near the Vatican, is an American- style underground bar which features quality musical performances almost every night of the week. The genre of music is usually in keeping with that of the blues era, with dixieland style jazz performances along with some soft rock and roll. This is basically a cellar jazz bar that attracts folks from all walks of Roman life. There's also a restaurant that features moderately priced grilled meats, salads, and crepes.

The Fonclea is a cultural association for the promotion of music and a meeting place for Roma club soccer fans for all the matches not played on Saturday and Sunday evening. Open every night with dinner at 7pm. Concerts start at 9.30pm. Open for lunch Mon-Fri, 12-3pm. Free entrance, Sat €6. The club is closed in July and August.
