Giovanni Battista Maini, Italian sculptor, was born in Cassana Magnano in 1690 and died in Rome in 1752. He was a pupil of G.Rusnati in Milan, then of G.Rusconi and of F.Della Valle in Rome. Here he worked in numerous churches: monument to cardinal Orsini (1732-1735, St John Lateran); monument to Innocent X (S.Agnese in Agone).
