Piazza della Chiesa Nuova, which takes its name from the church of the same name. About 500 m (1,600 ft) to the east is the famous Piazza Navona. Along with the Chiesa Nuova, there are a number of churches in the immediate area, including the Santa Maria della Pace, Sant'Agnese in Agone, and San Salvatore in Lauro.

The other object occupying the square is Fontana della terrina, probably by G.Della Porta, ordered by Gregory XIII and placed originally on Campo de' Fiori. In 1889 it had to give space for the monument to Giordano Bruno and was kept in the Commune stores till 1924, when was erected on Piazza della Chiesa Nuova.
