Guglielmo della Porta, Italian sculptor, was born in 1490/1500 and died in Rome in 1577. He was a pupil of his uncle Giovan Giacomo and his collaborator in the works executed in Genoa: relieves in Cappella degli Apostoli in Duomo (1530). In 1537 he moved to Rome, where executed his main work: a monument to Paul III Farnese in St Peter's (1549-1575).
